Specific Job Duties: Responsible for quality of incoming raw materials to SAS site, including:
* Interaction and management of multiple material suppliers for quality, supply chain management including 2nd sourcing, technical support, improvements, possible root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action implementation.
* Closely work with various groups on site such as Fab engineering, Purchasing, Facilities, Analysis Lab, and Manufacturing to resolve issues.
* Develop, understand and document cradle to grave understanding of materials including their manufacturing processes and final use in FAB.
* Proactively identify and implement material quality improvement opportunities closely working with suppliers, counterparts in Korea, and SAS FAB engineering teams.
* Drive material related FAB investigations; provide material understanding and interactions with FAB processing.
* Management and leadership of material issues (SPC, data analysis, 8D development and corrective actions).
* Work with suppliers to identify future improvements (roadmap) to stay ahead of the curve for driving 1x nodes and beyond.
* Qualifications of new materials and changes including: supplier process change notifications, project planning, execution of qualification, data analysis.
* Initiate and lead improvement teams both internal and external to Material Technology.
* Perform experiments, investigations and evaluations utilizing statistical methods. Document all work accurately and promptly in the correct factory systems.
* Complete projects promptly; submit regular and special reports as required to support department KPI.
* Create SOPs, optimize procedures and mentor the team on such items.
* Support Group Key Metrics
* Perform other duties as required for factory operation
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
* Requires a minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, Material Science or an equivalent discipline.
* Requires 5+ years of experience.
* Semiconductor FAB experience is preferred.
* Supplier management and/or development experience preferred.
* Requires project management, communication and coordination skills.
* Requires experience with Statistical process control (SPC), data analysis and problem solving techniques.
* Requires experience in cross-functional teamwork environments.
* Requires experience in Electronics grade material industry (Patterning materials or Wafers preferred)
* Preferred experience in FMEA creation & management.
