Sr. Accounting Manager
**General Description**
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking for a Sr. Accounting Manager. This position will lead the general ledger, accounts payable and financial reporting functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Leads and directs a team of 3 financial accountants and 5 accounts payable staff.
* Owner of and liason for accounting systems and related technical, reporting, and internal control environment issues.
* Extensive collaboration with external auditors, physical inventory execution, and vendors.
* Strong communication, organization, and staff management skills required.
* Responsible for month end financial closings and balance sheet, income statement and expense analysis; monthly internal control and risk assessments and reconciliations; intercompany transactions; assurance of proper expense and disbursement cutoffs.
* Daily/weekly, reviews and approves journal entries, general ledger transactions, invoices, reconciliations, disbursements, expense reports, company credit cards, and other tasks related to the maintenance, authenticity, and safeguarding of assets and accounting records
* Coordinates closely with Financial Management and Operations to ensure accrual accuracy.
* Full responsibility for quarterly, interim, and annual external audit coordination and financial statement, foot note preparations under IFRS guidelines.
* Assures adherence to and enhancement of internal controls, policies and procedures.
* Coordinates, plans, and executes semi-annual multi-site physical inventories.
* Responsible for hiring, training and performance management of direct personnel.
* Adherence to quality and deadlines is critical.
* Various projects as assigned.
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting required.
* CPA required.
* Minimum of 15 years accounting experience with 6 plus years of team leadership experience.
* Experience in managing and developing professional staff.
* Must have knowledge of GAAP and IFRS; accounting expertise related to hedging, leases, property plant & equipment, cash flow, inventory, and manufacturing a plus.
* Experience in large international company or Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.
* Must be flexible, ability to adapt and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
* Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
* Hands on experience with an ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong team building skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and commitment to deadlines.
